The SPADS R/C Club of Enid

Boomer Field

Established June 28, 2012

The SPADS R/C Club has been active in Enid for more than 45 + years.  The new field is west of down town Enid on  Boomer Rd, which is on Hiway 412/60, 3 miles west of Garland rd ( Atwood's, Lowe's, Wal-Mart) and 1/4 mile south on Boomer Rd.  The club leases approximately  6.5 acres of prime wheat farmland, the field has a 30 x 300 foot Petro-mat runway and the grass is just beginning to grow.  The field is a work in progress at this time, runway is down and ready for use and tables are available for ease of model assembling models.   The Flight Shack has a covered picnic table, chairs and enclosed heated area provides shade in the summer and warmth in the winter.  We have electric power and water on site but do not recommend drinking the water at this timeA port-a-potty is on site.  All roads to the field are paved with only a 1250 foot dirt-road to the field gate.  Our plans include, farther landscaping/tree removal,  more covered areas near the Flight Shack, playground equip., RV parking and helicopter land pad. Our field complies with AMA safety guidelines.  Frequency control is strictly enforced by use of frequency board and pins. This is a private flying site maintained by the club and the gate is locked when not in use.   Out of town flyers and spectators are always welcomed.  All flyers must have a current AMA card in their possession in order to fly their models at the field.  We have no known frequency conflicts.  Out of town flyers/visitors may contact Rich Richardson 580-237-7351 or jwrich1@suddenlink.net  for access to the field.  So next time you are tagged to go to the Mother-in-law’s for a visit, bring a plane, you will be welcomed.   More pictures will be posted as the field improves, we have come a long way in a very short time.
